Reading about libraries of the future

Both this month’s Educational Leadership and SLJ have articles related to the future role of libraries in education.  Is anyone out there doing anything with blogs and students, podcasting, etc?

While we have not done anything with podcast yet, one of my favorites is Word Nerds. It is produced Howard Chang and Dave Shepherd who teach high school in NOVA. Each episode explores the etymology of words The topics vary, this weeks, the language of the locker-room, the emerging way young people talk about each other as sexual beings, may not be appropriate for classroom use. However, each episode starts with a rating (g,pg,pg13) and warns if their is content that may be offensive. Each show include an alternative music interlude. I have yet to hear a bad selection. Check out the Word Nerd Podcast.
